Pebble Beach Tafoni
Tafoni (singular: tafone) are commonly defined as small to large cavity features that develop in either natural or manmade, vertical to steeply sloping, exposures of granular rock (i.e., granite, sandstone) with smooth concave walls, and often round rims and openings. The tafoni presented in this gallery can be found at Pebble Beach/Bean Hollow State Beach in San Mateo, California. These sculpted rocks make for wonderful landscape and abstract compositions. I can see myself continuing to add to this gallery during the coming years.
