Images in this gallery are sourced from Clarion and Balmy Alleys in the Mission District of San Francisco. Both sites are home to ever changing, wildly colorful painted images, many of them with sociological and political overtones. I felt that treating them as black and white images gave them even more power and depth to the stories their artists wanted to convey.
